Our Mission

The purpose of the Swansea Point Community Association is to promote community participation and community spirit for all residents and to foster community communication. The Swansea Point Community Association works closely with our residents (permanent and seasonal), the Swansea Point Fire Department and all levels of government and their branches in addressing matters of importance to the community.

The community

Swansea Point is an Unincorporated Community 11 km. south of the District of Sicamous straddling Highway 97A. and situated on the eastern shore of Mara Lake.

There are 500 residences here comprised of resorts, mobile home parks, full time residents and seasonal cottages and homes In the spring, summer and early fall, the population can soar to a few thousand. However in the winter there are about 150 residents living here full time.

Our Vision

The Associations three primary objectives are…

  1. Advance inclusiveness within our community with the goal of engaging and connecting all residents regardless of whether they are full-time or seasonal, and;
  2. Improve overall public safety, for example through initiatives supporting the volunteer fire department, maintaining and improving the community’s fire hall, strengthening emergency preparedness through NEPP, and implementing measures to enhance the security of the community.
  3. Fully engage community with our four signature special events through out the year and our Annual AGM.

Our Beaches

Oxford Road Lake Access

Oxford Road in Swansea Point is a lake access park on Mara Lake. On-site at Oxford Road, you will find a washroom, bike rack and parking for up to four vehicles. This site is great for hand launching boats and swimming. Please be aware there are no lifeguards on duty.

Oxford Road Lake Access is owned by the Ministry of Transportation and operated under a License of Occupation held by the CSRD.

Westminster Road Lake Access

Westminster Road Lake Access is one of seven lake access in Swansea Point. It is a picturesque lake access outfitted with a bike rack, garbage receptacle and two picnic benches in a beautiful setting. Take the time to sit and relax at this beautiful site.

Please be aware, there are no public washrooms here. The closest washroom is at Cambridge Road Lake Access.  Parking is available for three cars. Please be aware there are no lifeguards on duty.

Westminster Road Lake Access is owned by the Ministry of Transportation and operated under a License of Occupation held by the CSRD.

Windsor Road Boat Launch

Windsor Road is a lake access park in Swansea Point. The site is a day-use (no overnight parking) public boat launch and is also used by emergency vehicles to access the lake. This site has a bike rack, parking and picnic tables for public use. Boaters are expected to use the dock for loading and unloading only and are not permitted to moor their boats longer than 10 minutes.

Please be aware, there are no public washrooms on site. The closest washroom is at Cambridge Road Lake Access. Please be aware there are no lifeguards on duty.

Windsor Road Lake Access is owned by the Ministry of Transportation and operated under a License of Occupation held by the CSRD.

Do not park your truck and trailer on a road or in a beach parking lot in the community while you are out on your boat. Trucks and trailers must be returned to your property.

Swanson Road Community Park

Swanson Road Community Park is a waterfront park on Mara Lake, in Swansea Point. At this site you will find a small playground for the kids with a slide, basket swing, net climbing structure and small spinner. There is also a path leading you to the beach, where you can enjoy the weather with your toes in the water. There’s also a vault toilet, garbage disposal and picnic tables. Please be aware there are no lifeguards on duty.
